Currently I am writing the score and designing sound for Dead Man's Cell Phone
by Sarah Rhul, presented by the Immediate Theatre
Project at NC Stage. Tickets will be
starting March 8, 2010 and can be purchased through NC Stage or the Immediate
Theatre Project. The show will run April 7 - 19, 2010. In addition to this
I am also exploring an ongoing curriosity that involves how an artist can
use sound in a piece of static art such as sculpture or painting.
I am working with local artist Vicki Grant on a series of scultptures
that incorporate a variety of sensors which will trigger aural information as the
viewer interacts with the piece. The first set of three sculptures revolves
around an environmental theme, and as you trigger each sensor a storyline unfolds.
This project is scheduled for completion in late fall, and will most likely debut
at the Blue Spiral in the spring of 2010. Below you can hear a piece that is
currently in progress for the third sculpture in the series. The way in which
you interact with the piece is still in progress, but I thought a preview of
the music might be nice. I will be updating this page of the website to include
information on gallery showings and any other pertinent information, so be sure
and check back soon. Thanks.
